December 22, 2025 - January 2, 2026: Christmas Break
March 23 - 27, 2026: Spring Break
May 22, 2026 - Last day of classes
As a former homeschooling parent, I understand the struggles of families trying to homeschool on a budget, so I try to keep my costs as reasonable as possible. I last raised my rates in June 2022, and that was my first price increase in more than five years!
Tuition for regular classes is $80/month ($720 for the school year, September-May). Four students constitute a class.
Private classes (2-3 students) are $100/month ($900 for the school year). To get the best value, ask your friends to join and get the regular class rate!
Private tutoring (a weekly, 9-month contract) is $160/mo. for a guaranteed 1-hr. time slot. (The average cost for private tutoring elsewhere is $50/hr.) The cost to make up a missed private tutoring session is $40.
Six-week summer classes are $180. Six weeks of summer private tutoring is $300.
Paper editing service is $40/hr. (No meeting, one-hour minimum). Meeting in-person or online, $50/hr.
You are contracting for a space in my class for your student for the entire school year. Total yearly tuition for classes and tutoring will be divided into 9 equal payments, invoiced at the beginning of each month. Tuition is due each month regardless of student’s attendance. This is because either time or a seat is being reserved for your student for the year. Credit toward a future class will be given if I must miss a class day. Beginning in the fall of 2021, seats will be reserved with a nonrefundable deposit equal to the first month's tuition.
Please pay tuition via Zelle. PayPal users, please add 3.5% to tuition payments to cover fees.
Cancellation/Refunds
First month deposits are nonrefundable. If you have paid full tuition in advance and withdraw within 30 days of the start of class, you may receive a full refund. In addition to the nonrefundable deposit, 10% administrative fee will be charged for withdrawals 30 days after registration or less than 30 days before class. A 15% administrative fee will be charged for withdrawals less than 15 days before class. Once class has started, refunds will be considered only for special circumstances on a case-by-case basis. To withdraw from a course, parents must provide an email with a notice to withdraw from the class and unenroll from the Google Classroom. If I must cancel a class, a full refund or full credit toward another or future class will be provided, whichever you prefer.
Except for summer sessions, please keep in mind that you are committing your student to attend a school year’s worth of classes (September - May, see calendar above). Students are expected to attend each class in order to receive the maximum benefit from instruction. Absences are to be expected due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances. For private tutoring students, I am willing to reschedule days with advance notice. Instructions and/or videos will be posted with assignments in Google Classroom (for student and parent review only).
NOTE: For online classes, students will be expected to participate in the class by turning on their microphone and video settings. Please do not enroll in an online class if your student does not wish to participate via video. This provides the best experience for me and for other students, and it also ensures that students are present and engaged. Students should each have their own device (a laptop rather than an iPad or phone). Using a phone will not allow students to navigate in Google Classroom and our Zoom meeting effectively. Please provide optimal equipment and high-speed Internet access for accessibility to both Zoom and Google Classroom, as well as a quiet place during classes.
Book purchases are required for several classes. Where appropriate, I will provide e-texts or .pdf versions of literature. Please purchase the books according to the specific links or ISBN numbers provided in the syllabus or Booklist tab. This makes it easier for your students to follow along in class and ensures they receive the best quality literature. (I am not responsible if you decide to use a version that is inappropriate or confusing for your student!)
Parents of students give permission to use student work, photos, or portions of videos taken in class (without identification), for promotional purposes and to advance my certification level with IEW. No student will be identified in photos or by full name on writing samples unless authorized. Any objection to this policy must be provided in writing. Online classes may be recorded, and joining an online class acknowledges consent to recording. Instructional videos are reserved for student/parent use only and are not to be redistributed.
Enrollment in and payment for a class indicate that you have read, understood, and agree to the aforementioned policies.
